Road to Rhune
A downloadable game
I have been a stranger in a strange land. ― Exodus, II. 22.
Road to Rhune is a solitaire roleplaying game of adventure, played out on fantasy maps from your favourite fantasy authors and roleplaying games. You can use any fantasy map to play as long as you can represent a mile’s travel with a suitable measurement on a measuring tape.
When we have discovered a continent, or crossed a chain of mountains, it is only to find another ocean or another plain upon the further side…. Little do ye know your own blessedness; for to travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive….
― Robert Louis Stevenson, El Dorado.
How To Play
Road to Rhune uses D4s, D6s, D8s, D10s, and D12s to track various aspects of the game. The most important of these is your Company's Resolve, which is the average resolve of all members in your traveling band. Every hour you roll the Weal and Woe dice, add your Company's Resolve, and consult the Weal or Woe table. Be wary though, for darkness approaches and your supplies could just run out before you reach the next town.
Besides dice, you'll need a fantasy map and a pencil to track your progress. A set of fantasy miniatures to represent your party is a great option but is not required.
